Race Evaluation

London Park Series: #10 Elthorne Park: Long

Psuba

1. P D P R 1 +00:05Hesitated in the field as was tempted by a different gate exit to potentially divert from the original plan.
2. P D P R 1 +00:05Map shows open area but straight line had quite a bit of undergrowth (rough open), probably would have been faster to go right therefore, but stuck to plan instead of adjusting when saw the layout.

6. P D P R 1
7. P D P R 2 +01:40Went right too early, into the white patch of woods instead of the path. It looked like the right point except that there was a ruined fence that should have stopped me from going in there. Instead wasted time trying to go trough the dead end, had to double back
8. P D P R 1 +00:05Almost went left in open area instead of the paved area
9. P D P R 1
10. P D P R 2
11. P D P R 2 +00:50Bad route choice as gone left which in hindsight is slightly longer. Likely a bigger issue (which can not be deduced from the map) was that the path was very overgrown with nettle + brambles so slowed me down a lot in shorts.
12. P D P R 2 +00:10Should have gone straight up through the light green out to the path but chose to run the path to the right. This was a judgement call and should have evaluated the density of the forest, but I after the previous leg I had no appetite to fight through more undergrowth
13. P D P R 2 +00:05Should have carried on running on the road almost to control but chose to dive in and run through the clearing instead - probably somewhat less runability this way
14. P D P R 1
15. P D P R 1
16. P D P R 2
17. P D P R 2 +00:15Rough or normal open not as distinguishable as on the map, nevertheless covered direction based on the wrong visible bush, this confused me slightly before figuring out the correct way to move.
18. P D P R 2
19. P D P R 2 Starting to tire at this point
20. P D P R 2
21. P D P R 2
22. P D P R 2 +00:05Would have been slightly shorter running left but I ran right
23. P D P R 2
24. P D P R 2
25. P D P R 2
26. P D P R 1
27. P D P R 2 +00:05Probably going right would have been slightly shorter
28. P D P R 1
F. P D P R 0
