Race Evaluation

Georgia Navigator Cup and Extreme-O :: Sweetwater Creek State Park: Red Day 2

Stout

1. P D P R +00:15When I saw the ditch I flinched in my map reading because I did not see the control so I read my map closly for a few second and then thought I was right so I went for a closer look and found the control
2. P D P R Over the spure in along the retrant and up to the control
3. P D P R +00:05I took a lower route then I wanted too going threw control 10. This added unneeded climb to the route and concentrated the climb at the end of the route slowing me down
4. P D P R +00:15I hopped on the trail and then cut off across the retrant I knew I was looking for a control when the land turned but I was attracted to a control and checked the number. I guess I was not trusting my map reading yet.
5. P D P R Just easy compass leg with not much turn in the spur
6. P D P R Hopped up on the trail and saw Austin running by. Ran along the trail and then cut off. Saw the cutting so I knew I needed to run in the white more then planned so I aimed for the white reentrant and then hopped over to the reentrant with the control
7. P D P R +02:00I read the map very very poorly. I got sorta distracted thinking I was doing great cuz I had seen Austin who had like a 40 min head start. I hopped to the retran and then went to the bottom and around thinking the control was at the bottom of the next retrant. I saw someone leave the control but mistrusted myself tinking it was the wrong one so I continued to seach where I was. Then I read the map closly twice and figured it out
8. P D P R +02:00I had a good plan of crossing the big retrant and climbing to the trail but I did not execute I stayed low on top of the retrant and had to contour nearly 500 meters which went way to slow. The last 50 meters I hit the trail and found the control
9. P D P R Good plan going straight on the trail. I liked just zoning out completely and focusing on running the trail but I was doing badly at that looking at my map way too often slowing me down
10. P D P R +00:05My plan was torun up the retrant and cut off on the retrant up to the trail. this went well but I took a bad angle from the trail and had to run like 70 meters to the control when I got in its retrant
11. P D P R Just straight forward run im almost done out of the system abd then across the bridge and along the trail with hopping the final spur
12. P D P R I was tired maybey did the last control too fast cause I had to walk a little along the fence
13. P D P R Hop to the trail next to the lake and go go go
F. P D P R Up the hill ugh
