| 1. | In a heat with J-J, Alexei Azarov, Pia, Dan Westerburg. For some strange reason, I went slightly to right of the line, up the trail and rocks to top then over. Punched in shortly after Pia. | ||||||
| 2. | Huffing & puffing, following Pia. | ||||||
| 3. | Pia went up & right, I went up and left. Tried the "lighter" slash, which was impenetrable, so went around to the left to the trail. Best is probably trail around to right, saving climb. Pia punched in just ahead | ||||||
| 4. | Straight down, finding the gap, Pia left of me. Again, punched just behind. | ||||||
| 5. | Falling behind on this leg... Someone at the control before me was taking a LONG time to punch. Wanting to keep Pia in sight, I rudely grabbed at it. Sorry about that... | ||||||
| 6. | +01:00 | Massive brain fart. I was on the trail going to the left of the control, when I thought I was on the right one, so when I reached the end, I turned left -- EVEN THOUGH Pia was coming from the right. What a maroon. I followed her to where she cut off to go to #7 before I worked it out. | |||||

| 13. | As I was coming down, met Andrew coming up. I went around to the left of the pond. | ||||||
| 14. | E to trail, avoiding tricky descent at cliffs. | ||||||
| F. | I noticed Dan Westerburg behind me here. It dawned on me that he was in my heat, so I cranked it up. He gave me my chance by taking the road too far. I was pleased to be able to keep up a strong sprint. Just barely beat him, but we finished in the same second. |
