Fasted. HR higher than expected.
Exploring the path from Logie. Lovely but was definitely in the wrong shoes. Knee was a bit sore on the downs and slippy bits.

Booked in to see my physio at home on Wednesday for my shoulder but will ask him to have a look at the knee too.

Dumyat WEE
No compass as I leant it out to one of our beginners. Made it a ground shape training session really. Lovely course. Climb was tough. Pleasantly surprised with result! Happy chap. Restored my faith in myself.
And everyone finished in time for club dinner where we witnessed a robbery and a racist hate crime. Fun day.

British Relays - Leg 3 Women's Prem
What a shitter

Was actually really excited when I was waiting for Janine to finish but when she came back in 2nd I panicked a little. Kept smooth through no.1&2 but didn't see the path before no.3 and ended up having a mare. Must have been about 5m from it and not seen it (deja vu) and relocated at no.4 10 mins later. Fantastic start.
Ramped it up and ran well through to 7. Knew Mairi and Tamsin were ahead of me here so didn't want to let too many more past. Just needed to stay smooth. Except that didn't happen.
Thought I was being really cautious with my bearing to 8 but ended up fannying about far too low and binned another 10 mins or so. Even more fantastic. Cue meltdown 1.
After this I lost all my enthusiasm. Was genuinely tempted to sack it in but thought I owed it to the girls and Jon to at least finish the bloody thing. It was grotty as for the last part of the course. No mistakes but very sluggish and slow. Had another meltdown because I was knackered and finding it so difficult to shift. Did all I could to get back before the 3rd meltdown hit.

Ended up dropping us to 7th overall. It's a respectable overall result but such a disappointing individual split that clearly lost us top 5.

Probably the worst I've orienteered in a very long and I'm really frustrated at myself. I know the area didn't suit me and I don't have the same speed as the others but that's no excuse for such a shocking amount of time loss. Really tough to take.
