askham fell galoppen
a relatively successful run on askham common for the first time ever and managed to find all the controls in pits - what a win!! faffed about a bit in the circle at 5 and also was a bit scrappy to 7 but apart from that nav was good. poor nights sleep on a village hall floor (i think this is what messed me up for jircs 2023 looking back) so energy levels were pretty low and just generally felt super groggy but decided to push relatively hard on downhill/flat and let myself jog up hill. generally felt alright until 13-14 as the tussocks killed me off but managed to make it round. would’ve liked to feel a bit better as this course was super nice and the area is nice running but just one of those things.

keswick sprint
nav good apart from a very dodgy placement of #9 in a dark ginnel (control was on a beer mat at ankle height basically) which i faffed about a bit trying to find but everyone probably did. running was alright, quite a bit longer than a usual sprint so kinda hit the wall 3/4 of the way through but felt better in the parky bit near the end. not the hardest sprint i’ve ever done here but my planning and execution were both good which is positive. did not enjoy the massive muddy slope down to 18 and i was super precarious down it so probably lost quite a bit of time there actually. a drizzly day but enjoyed
