Bear Notch Skate Skiing
1 - 2 feet of new snow - it was the biggest storm of the season! I started with classic (waxable) skis, but it was already too warm (38 and sunny) without klister - had no kick! Quickly switched to skating and that worked fabulously. My new Madshus - (made for soft conditions) - were zipping along in spite of me having waxed them for cold - all very easy! Lots of stopping and chatting with dog owners, and picture taking. Could have used some sunscreen.

Trotting through 2 inches of snow Nice going with just lightly snowing throughout. Had good traction with my Altra Timp5's. Legs did get tired from it towards the end. Too bad we will have a wash-out later in the day - there will be no skiing around here.

Snow was very saturated with water - it had to be done before a deep-freeze night.
