Day two at DNA. Did the Patty. A lot of comments about how much I sweat. They're not used to old people. I also can't always hear what they're saying.
Aargh!!!! Fuck. Some stupid rich Appleby college asshole stole Ben's new bike. Fortunately he's so dumb ben worked out where he was right away and took it back within a half hour. Now I get to have the cops over. But so do they I expect. I hope they're as mortified to have a cruiser in front of their mansion as I am of having the same in front of this hovel. What's with people? And their shitbag kids? Stupid face left another stolen bike here so now we've worked out whose it is and will get it back to them.
Appleby jerks never change. Can't win 80's xc meets, pay $35,000 a year for tuition and steal my kids $600 last, last years model bike that he loves. Fuck you.

So that smug and virtuous 'I've done more by 7:30 than the rest of you people will do all day' feeling doesn't come if you hobble around the block like a drunken cripple thinking wistfully of the old days when you could actually run when you wanted to.
Planning to push through this week to complete the three week cycle I laid out and hopefully get to the doc for a referral for physio. Again. Maybe then I can get on the road to running well because I can say for sure that if I can't go under 5:00/km in a morning jog then I will not be hitting 3:10 in Chicago no matter how flat the course is.
May also have to pitch the Hokas. Hit 600 k in them today and I suspect they are now more part of the problem than part of the solution. So, shoe shopping!

No way to hit the gas for a five k race pace deal as planned because my right hip was too tight and painful. Not cool.
Tried the track today at the Milton velodrome. It was awesome. Someplace at the intersection of intimidating, exhilarating, physical and poetic. Just like me. Would go again. AMRAP.

Holy eff that was tough. Right distance but did a poor job on the pacing and absolutely croaked at the end. The 6:xx km was due to a traffic light though.
