A bit under the weather and about 4 hours of broken sleep last night. So incredibly exhausted. This was slow

Jog to the meadows then 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1. But the 6 was 5:30 accidentally, so the 4 was 4:30. You’re only cheating yourself otherwise.

Left knee only hurt at the end. I wouldn’t say the intervals were all that fast, but faster than the 90secs rest (45 walk, 45 jog). Immediate goal, Scottish champs. Less than 6 weeks.

New shoes a full size too big to help my toes. Feet didn’t move around as much as I feared they would.

Note

I’m sad that I am going to miss coasts and islands this summer. I have always thought this part of Scotland would make for great orienteering and apparently it’s awesome.

Limited entires disappearing quick:

Orienteering - race 27:59 [3] 2.15 mi (13:01 / mi) +77m 11:43 / mi
ahr:148 max:176

British relays women’s short. Last leg.

I was just so atrociously awful today. And one of the controls didn’t register. Mairi will confirm I went there as I was swearing so loudly. Had to tell team mate Lucy I’d mispunched. Oh dear. And my toes really hurt on the way home, which is shit as it wasn’t even cold. But I get home and 2 x new shoes (trainers and vinted oroc, worn twice £45) a whole size bigger than my normal shoes have arrived, and the extra space really seems to help my sore toes and the trainers have been on ever since I got home.

At least we got the car out of the parking field relatively unscathed. That’s my last mudfest orienteering for a while.

Orienteering - race 1:03:30 [3] 4.54 mi (13:59 / mi) +217m 12:11 / mi
ahr:150 max:173

British champs

Losses at 1 (control not on the spur) 6 (being an idiot) and any other time losses were through being too old and unfit for these sorts of shenanigans. 2nd to Kim.

Knee didn’t start hurting until no 14-ish despite swimming the river coming out of 10. Toes only hurt at the start and afterwards. They are getting worse though and now just hurting all the time. Not nearly as bad as the pain when they get cold then re warm, but still pretty annoying.. map on strava
