ICO's annual spring event on the Story-Middle Fork map. We'll be at the south start location. Starts from 10am - Noon. Courses: Blue (7.2 km), Red (5.4 km), Green (4.1 km), Orange, Yellow, and White.

Director's Notes: The map we use at Story was printed in 1993. Amazingly, it has held up through fourteen years of wind and storm. In the fullness of time, root stocks have become dust, and others have sprung anew from the earth. The terrain is rugged and offers no apology to those who like coddled features, and so the courses are necessarily about ridges and steep gullies. We have included a cliff and a pond, but these are cosmetic. Basically, this map and the courses are about reentrants. on Saturday we explore the western edge of the map – really closer than we should - but there is beautiful creek out there that is worth visiting.

You will notice that the courses appear short. USOF guidelines now give fastest times for the more difficult courses and not distances. These are Green (50-55 min), Red (60-65 min) and Blue (75-80 min). You are challenged to prove the meet directors wrong. They are betting that not a breathing soul will moved faster than the time limits for these courses.

The weather sources predict a glorious day. The terrain is fast and breathless. The bags hang low. It is up to you.

Directions: Take S.R.46 east from Nashville, IN (or take S.R.46 west from I-65) to S.R.135. Follow S.R.135 south (about 10 miles) to the stop sign at the small town of Story. Turn left at the stop sign and follow S.R.135 about 1.6 miles to Mt. Nebo Road. Turn right, and follow Mt. Nebo Road about 2.0 miles to Berry Ridge Road. Turn right, and follow Berry Ridge Road about 1.8 miles to a pull-off parking area on the left side of the road. Please fill up this parking area before parking on the side of Berry Ridge Road. You'll see the start area as you pass by on the way to the pull-off (the parking area is 0.5 miles past the start).
