I like the taper program where you take a day off four days out, do intervals three days out, do an easy workout two days out, do a short workout with strides one day out, and then race. Helps me feel relatively peppy, but it does eat up a week of training, so I'll only do it for big races. Like, hint hint, the US champs =)
I don't know what you guys are getting nervous about, the US champs were in August. I won :-) Boris you were there, don't you remember! ;-)) ;-))
