Hi there from Michigan! From time to time I look on your log to see what an awesome AR woman does! I am looking for all the tips I can get. There aren't many of us AR women, but we are mighty! :)

I wanted to ask a bit more about your symptoms for your toes, etc. My left foot pad and three middle toes are tingly, and I just thought it was because I have added a few miles to my regimen...are they tingly after, or all the time?

Just asking to learn from a more experienced athlete...I think I might try to get to a masseuse...

hi hiii! oh yes log-checking is always encouraged! thanks for stopping by :)

i'm dealing w just the outermost foot pad on my L foot, where the pinkie toe connects to the sole, both under and to the side of the foot. at rest it's fine. but under just a hint of pressure/contact, it lights up w pain. not muscle/bruise/tendon/bone pain, but nerve sensation. so walking around barefoot is tolerable if i mostly push off w the inside/big toe side of my foot. but anything more dynamic, such as turning while walking, or running, is not good. bright side: lifting with planted feet is fine (squats/DL/etc), and obvi core/upper body stuff.

at the moment my plan is:
#1 don't freak out. nerve pain is mental and my mind needs to calm down. this was part of the reason for getting a massage. being calm is good.
#2 do everything possible to reduce any swelling (ibuprofen, rest, ice, clean eating, don't poke at it)
#3 see a foot doctor on Monday

a co-worker of mine suggested that since nerve pain is mental, i should just get super drunk tonight and see if that helps. if i knew it would work, i'd do it right now!

Ha! Good stuff! Had my hubster massage the toes (yeah, that's love!!!), and this morning it's only one toe, and its tingly. I'm trying a day off-super clean eating...I'm doing the Cabin Fever next weekend, so I may call a doc.

ALSO...you inspired me for my 44th birthday! I can only do one day I think...but playing around with 44...44 miles, 440m, possibilities are ENDLESS.

Thanks for being a lightning rod! :)

good call on hubster massage! for me, I need to string together multiple days of good food to notice a difference. also don't be afraid to call a doc sooner, depending on their appointment schedule it may be awhile before you can get in.

so stoked on your birthday! when you work out as much as we do, adding little number games really helps keep training fresh. i know you will think of something amazing and fun! let me know what you decide on.

Went to the doc, she thinks its neuroma, and need to see a podiatrist. Thanks for the advice. Bike trainer for a few days!
