Southern Ontario adventure racers and orienteers, it's time for O Cup winter orienteering once again!

The O Cup Kickoff will take place this Sunday morning, Nov. 24 at Glen Haffy Conservation Area in Caledon. We'll figure out a place to meet for post-race lunch for anyone interested. Registration is now open.

I might be running Hockley instead. But keep me posted on lunch.

I can't run, but maybe that'll help my orienteering. :)

Lunch plans won't be finalized until after the event since we don't know when it will finish. If you're in the area, you could drop by and see if the race is over yet.

LosDobos, I can't run right now either but I have signed up.

I will also be "working on my orienteering skills" at this event.

Bash - any place in the area for entry-level MTB riding around there afterwards? I finally got myself some new wheels, no rentals for me. :)

Excellent, flowy MTB trails are 10 minutes away at Palgrave Forest and Wildlife Area. See my log from Saturday. Stay east of Duffy's Lane for the best riding. A couple of the trails are officially for hiking only but nobody seems to know for sure, and there are a few errors on the trail sign so don't worry about it too much.

The #1 MTB attraction around here is Albion Hills Conservation Area, about 5 minutes further away. http://www.trca.on.ca/albionhills

Since you don't know the trails, bring a compass and print the map. It's easy to get disoriented. Maybe someone else will be interested in a ride? Normally I'd go but I don't think I can get away.

You're the best! I've heard wondrous things about Albion. I sure love running on those trails.

I'd love some riding buddies if anyone is interested. It will be my mighty steed's maiden voyage.

I really don't like biking but I could be convinced to ride on Sunday. :) Even though it could be -10?! I will confirm later this week Clean!

Nah, WT is a little short for me. Thinking expedition for my first one.

-10?? Well at least it won't be mucky. I also don't like biking. But when you're training for a multiday race... :P
