Have you considered looking at a new sport. I heard that we could get good deals on getting our motorcycles back.... Apparently we were good at that.

Maybe Obstacle Cross races...the new AR. :-)

You guys are great, everyone has crappy races. No sweat.

There was a poutine eating contest a while back. I hear it is getting big.

What she said..In fact you guys were having a great race up till that stupid SW side of Wilson Lake. As many have said to me, shit happens...you get pissed off, deal with it..curse some more..contemplate quitting, sign up for a course on underwater basket weaving then you smarten up and sign up for another Fall Race after Oil Creek.

I for one will welcome the Poutine TA at WT2014.

It's funny about this sport - you make a pretty huge investment in time, money and physical/mental/spiritual energy and it magically pays off when you cross the finish line. And when you don't cross (and we've all had that experience), it guts you and makes the investment seem worthless. But it's not and you guys know that.

Great seeing you and hanging out. See you at the start line next time.

Some day let's have a beer, and I'll tell you the story of the 24-hr AR where I didn't find CP1. There was a new ATV trail roughly parallel to the old one. (Stop me if you've heard *that* story before!) It fooled the majority of teams. Although it was only 4 km from the start, we never found it. Phatty and Leanimal were the last team to get there after many hours of wandering. They finally stumbled on a team who gave them a reverse bearing back to the CP. I learned a lot from that race! And we had a great time doing selected parts of the rest of the course unranked.

Oh yes Bash, I remember THAT one. That was the one exception to the 'when in doubt you haven't gone far enough' rule :) What clued us in was finally accepting that we had somehow made our way to a ridge at the edge of the map. It was a long way back to CP1.

Cool, I wasn't sure if you were racing with them for that one. Boy, was that humbling!

Even in that crazy mass night start, Benoit's team was so good at distance estimation and compass watching on the trail that they knew exactly where they were. Really impressive.

Yeah, definitely plan on bouncing back, and quite honestly despite the outcome I really enjoyed this race. Course met my always high expectations for WT, and it seemed everyone we knew was racing which made it extra fun. I love that feeling of community.

As for Benoit, I now have a small shrine built in his honour.
