How cool is that. What did you place?
An informal race as training for adventure racers. Not as big as group as I'd hoped.
I got the feeling that I was better at the orienteering (maybe more familiarity with P'way approach) than most who were younger & faster, so that was a fun thought to be 'old but gold'. Think I was first back but some may have gone to top of South Mt - don't know.
Sometime in mid to late '90s, there were several of us from UNO who met at Pawtuckaway for a succession of Tu summer eves for O training. Fun memories - particularly the time when Peter Andersen got me to swim in one of the "spooky", deep ponds about which I had a dark water phobia. First we had to wade thru the mosquitoes at water's edge. The top 3' was warm & then below that very cold. I wasn't up to plunging the depths in search of bottom.
