MISSING: Have you seen Bob? A reward is offered. No, not Bob Miller, our race director - we know exactly where he is. We are heartbroken to announce that the *other* Bob was beavernapped from the porch shortly after last year's winning team dropped him off. We can only hope that his new family will ensure that he continues to lead an adventurous life. If anyone sees Bob, please ask him to call home. We miss him already. :(
You guys will go to any length to be sure he doesn't spend the next year in the US won't you?
Why do you think I felt safe making that bet with Tico 2.0? :(
Seriously? Who would have done such a thing?! What kind of shady neighbourhood does Getawaystix live in? ;)
Can we get our entry fee back?
@Myka, it was GStix's sister's porch.
@Tico 2.0, we are talking to beaver carvers. It may not be possible to get one made in time for this weekend but there will be a Robert Beaver Jr. eventually. GStix wants to call the new trophy "Barb The Beaver" but that will not be happening!
Barb the beaver!!!! Love it!!
BeaverBash wouldn't really work either.
Although it sounds like a great name for our post-race party.
Speaking of post-race party!
Gula-Stigen 1000 baby!

Apparently there is a beaver thief in Canada. From last year..
A 30-kilogram bronze beaver sculpture was swiped from the back of a pick-up truck in East Vancouver last week.
The statue, which is almost a metre long, was stolen Jan. 11 from the back of truck parked overnight in the 100 block of East 61st Avenue. Several smaller pieces of art were also stolen from the vehicle, police in Vancouver said Tuesday.
The bronze beaver was crafted by Saltspring Island artist Nicola Prinsen. Its value has not been released
I made a beaver out of clay once in 5th grade.
I could donate my beaver.
Oops, that doesn't sound right. ;-)
Je suis excitee.
>You guys will go to any length to be sure he doesn't spend the next year in the US won't you?
We have to protect Canadian heritage (eh!). Bob the Beaver is on his way to becoming as important as the Stanley Cup don't ya know. ;-) The Stanley Cup was donated by Lord Stanley to be awarded to the top Canadian hockey team and now it spends all the time in the US. So this hiding of Bob the Beaver is a most excellent approach to protecting Canadian heritage and sovereignty. ;-)
So if the Americans win then just give them a Canadian nickel and call it Elizabeth and allow that to rotate among winners and then pulll Bob the Beaver out of hiding and keep it protected here in Canada. :-)
Breaking News: It seems Bob the Beaver may have been dropped off at the wrong front porch.
Also very interesting...
Especially interesting when you consider that Bob was dropped off in the wrong location by a member of last year's winning team. You know, one of the people who finished first in a NAVIGATION race.
Let's hope Bob is found safe and sound! :))
I was going to tell you that last night I saw someone selling log animal carvings on hwy 38 about 0.5 km east of Wahtta Convenience store. I saw a bear and I think a beaver on display. But hopefully you'll track the original down now.
Maybe we should put a spot tracker on him.
Like these to protect the beaver from going astray.

I believe Simpy and BiT both own a pair of the above and race well in them.
I heard that Bob the beaver didn't renew his passport so he's not able to travel to the US.
Well we know BiT and simpy aren't wearing remote control ones. Else BiT wouldn't get lost in the Rouge so much when Simpy is on holidays.
Bob the race director pulled another rabbit out of the hat, and managed to get BobJr carved, varnished and ready for award ceremony in a world record time.
I think snow pants should get a gps tracker installed on the beav....and make sure it's one that will work in the U.S. next year... ;)
Here's Robert Jr. Beaver at the unveiling. Bob noticed a carver's place when he was driving around the race course on Saturday, so he stopped in and asked an impossible favour. The carver agreed. Bob asked me to send himphotos of Bob The Beaver, and I also chatted with him on the phone about our event. Amazingly, he completed it overnight!
Uh, as amazing as it may be that this carving was completed overnight, it is not a "Robert". Looks more francophone. Benoit-the-Beaver maybe?
LosDobos is calling it "Bob 2.0". And Bob wants to call it "Barb". I guess the jury is still out. I'm pretty sure Tico 2.0 would not support "Benoit" as the name. (Although I'll admit that crossed my mind!)
Hmmm, looks like a bear converted into a beaver to me.
@coach ld: Perhaps the t in Robert is silent? (given the domination by Quebec based teams).
