Looks like a great team.
Good luck to all of you!
Team leaders in Finland will be Erin Schirm and Cristina Luis.
Also, the following have received mid-year promotions ot the Senior Team based on their results so far this year: Ethan Childs, Kseniya Popova, and Anna Shafer-Skelton.
And thanks to EMPO for a superb long weekend of orienteering, hosting both the USA Short/Middle/Long Championships and the Team Trials.
Congrats to everyone - Good Luck
Fabulous! Best wishes and good luck to all!
Awesome. Congrats to the team!
For anyone who doesn't know or maybe didn't notice, Ethan Childs is 19 and Izzy Bryant (3rd alternate) is 16. Hopefully just the start of good things happening with our junior program under coach Erin Schirm.
And it was announced this weekend that funding has been secured to keep Erin on for a second year. Excellent news.
@PG extremely encouraging news! Congrats to all.
Congrats to the team! On to Finland...........!
Congrats to everyone! Looking forward to cheering for Team USA in Finland!
Are the final scores for the Team Trials available somewhere?
Working on it. They're on Wyatt's laptop. (I've just got the scores after two days on mine.)
The scoring list (click on it for a larger version) --
In the scoring list, why do several competitors have times of 999:59 for Day 3? This appears to be an error, though it doesn't appear that it will significantly change the ordering.
That was just a placeholder, to make sure they weren't included in the calculation of the best three times. Obviously what you see is not really final all the way down to the bottom of the list, but it was sufficient for team selection. I'll see if I can get the final standings for the record.
Ugh. The
official WOC song has been released :)
Wow. Macklemore they are not.
I'm not yet sufficiently powerful in IOF to mandate the non-production of an official WOC song as a condition of the organiser's contract. These things certainly have a less than glorious history, although the one heard regularly at JWOC 2006 which everyone assumed was an event song was actually the Lithuanian entry in that year's Eurovision Song Contest.
The final scoring list was sent to the US Team email list a few days ago. I'm hopeful it will get posted on the OUSA site, and linked to from this thread - who should we contact about that? (Or is it already there? I haven't looked...)
I've never heard of Macklemore, but I see that he's playing at the Preakness infield party today. Maybe he'll cover the WOC song and stampede all the horses.
