What a nice spot. We camped there on one of our road trips out to the 1000 day. A memorable trip as was the summer I retired, a great year.
Retired? Really? With your garden, Suzi, and Lyn's "honeydew" list, I can't believe you really think you're retired.
Sorry - should have said "Graduated" as another fellow employee advised after he had left and started enjoying life again.
And none of those are work! All quite enjoyable.
I camped there a long time ago with a group of kids from work. We rock climbed some cliffs. Not sure where they are now, but during my races there I have never seen cliffs for climbing there. Also no Eagles along the Mississippi River, they leave there in late Feb. but saw four on the drive over.
The area was very nice for our event, steep are some of the gullies, but not as much climb as Yellowwood.
The rock climbing area is close to the south end of the park by the river. South from the southern entrance. Or at least it was 10 years ago. If you remember the cave control in 2006, that was on the top of the rock climbing routes.
Hey Miikka, Thanks. The map was 1-10000 this year and the sprint was 1-5000 of the campground area..
The south end of the map did not make it in this years event.
Good memory Miikka! But I guess for a Finn, those palisades are pretty memorable terrain.
