do you mean dips? you don't want to be doing 'raises' with achilles but the opposite. eccentric heel dips... use arms and both legs to get up and then slow gentle controlled drop on bad one.

Although my physio hasn't made it clear whether pushing up is bad or not. I guess if it doesn't hurt it's OK.
I think pushing up is bad - even if it doesn't hurt - pushing up will work the calf and therefore keep the Achilles inflamed.
Also have you tried a splint at night to keep it all stretched - this really helps for me and stops those awful first steps in the morning!
