Discussion: dunes

I thought it was quite unusual terrain - certainly not typical Manawatu sand dunes, if anything most similar to the Canterbury sand maps (and still not very). Which probably negated a little bit of home advantage, but still glad they chose it for the uniqueness. Biggest adjustment for me was convincing myself that as it was a new enough map to not have suffered from sand drift and veg changes, all the sort of detail you usually can't rely on in the open dunes was actually all there present and correct!
