Ah! I can see how a beach might be tempting. Has it been hot?
Found a picture of my son in
your photos - you must have been very impressed by this handsome young man to take a sneak photo from behind ;)
Valerie, the live coverage is looking pretty good. Audio is nice. The dual vid feeds are nice. The 1,2,3 olynx bars at the bottom take up too much real estate. All we need is name, position, time and time behind (in finish order).
For halfway and finish. Then maybe 1-6 for both will fit on the screen with the two vid feeds. The audio is just fine.
Also on the live results I'd prefer the final time and diff to be on the far right of the split times. I think it would be easier to follow that way.
Vid camera closer to the spectator control (or zoomed) would be better. Can only make out blobs running in and out.
Tim's commenting on the livestream is very useful. I think its good to have someone giving a text play-by-play like that in parallel with the audio. I can't seem to get myself a livestream account at the moment.
Thanks, Eddie. Will pass this along.
Apparently lots of server problems. Never got any o-Lynx results working. It's always annoying when things like this appear but over-all it turned out OK. I mean you're on the other side of the world after all.
PS. With the setup of splits and final results on the video screen it worked very well with old fashioned pen-and-paper.
Thanks for the pics of the radio masts, results monitors and the equipment van. Those were my favorites from your set :)
I liked the pic of my son (with two nice girls - one on each side - and a secret admirer behind...)
People are ok. Antennas are sweeeeet! Valerie, I brought a TV to Mckeldin yesterday so we could watch the Raven's game live at the meet. Reception was excellent with just rabbit ears up on that ridge. And the birds won!
Leif, I was going to claim that I didn't take that picture since a young lady was running my camera on one day, but I did take that shot. Now I will try to meet his other side.
