I have a pretty fine crop myself this year. Always looking for a market for it.
JJ told me once that poachers went after the laurel. Somewhat of a desirable item for landscaping, and takes a long time to grow in a garden center.
There was a story years ago that Judy Dickinson was a laurel scavenger. I couldn't get her to come scavenge any of mine.
Maybe we can find a buyer for green briar - e.g. for prisons, to replace barbed wire.
"Drown me! Roast me! Hang me! Do whatever you please,” said Br'er Rabbit. “Only please, Br'er Fox, please don't throw me into the briar patch."
