We muscled the boats down there too, but Pulling' Foot caught up by running the portage, so it was slow as well as difficult to drag the boat. Goose also did the waterfall schlepp, but passed teams who portaged.

I think we followed you guys! We got passed by 2 teams on that section so a little slower but pretty exciting. Nice work on the course , you guys did great

Great perseverance, Gally. I only wish we could have seen you battle to the finish line like you usually do. I hope your knee recovers quickly so you can get back into action.

Would it be OK to link your race report to the WT website?

Rest up Gally. I was surprised to you guys pull the plug & not continue as team of 3 at my TA but now I understand why - smart move.

Yes very disappointing as I was looking forward to the last trek around go home lake. I'm usually pretty stupid with continuing with injuries but I surprised myself this time with doing the smart thing. Likely would have been different if we were still ranked , I know mrs Gally was turbo charged to keep going as she HATES to not finish any race!
FB , how did Will enjoy the race?

As an fyi (and it's probably good that you didn't remember this), 4-person teams in WT are still ranked in the Open category if they lose a member. Thus the Long Sault Long Shots finished ranked in spite of losing a member to the medics at Big Chute, partway through the first bike leg.

Luckily Mrs. Gally didn't remember that:)

Will spent about 3-4 hours hating life.. but he pulled it out and at least got the finish... he's a little disappointed that we didn't get to do the whole thing, but generally happy I think.

I look forward to doing one with my son when he's a bit older but we may start with a smaller race! Tell him he did great, I don't know of any 15 year olds (I think?) who would have attempted a 24hrs race and not quit. Must be in the genes :)

That's because he turned 16 at the end of June :-)

He was close to quitting on that ride... tired and frustrated!
