I think you took the better route to 8 (can cut the corner a bit across the yellow), but 9 would have been better to backtrack and go around the north again.

Very much so! And I think you're probably right - a bit wobbly bu tmy right angle was a lot of distance extra, plus steps.

The splits for 7-8 would suggest that the southern route was a quite a bit faster. Gswede went the northern route, as did Giacomo, whereas Ali and I went S. Don't remember comparing with anyone else, but there's no way I'm 4sec faster than Gswede and 10sec faster than Giacomo on that leg, however much Presto delights in stairs.

Also, not sure why it doesn't show up as a common split on AP.
