Thanks for sharing the photos from your bike to work day. I see you are dressed for a "steady pace" which you refer quite often in Attackpoint. Spike doesn't mention "steady pace" in his reports. Dee is the other regular bike commuter in the OK circle. Without a shower at work I rarely bike except on a rare cool summer day when I can minimize the sweating. I work on the Mt. Oread student union, so I have my L'Alp d'Huez for the commute.

Hi Gene! My steady pace sometimes has less to do with speed than how I'm feeling at any one point in time. It's more of a level of effort though there have been many times that I've been through my commutes within a few seconds of earlier commutes.

The pictures were not of me. That's Jon Pifer from QOC. He and I trained and ran a 50K earlier this year. We happened to bump into each other at the Ride to Work Day pit-stop in Bethesda.

I was dressed in basic riding shorts with cleats. For the special day, I wore my USDA riding jersey--a benefit available for purchase through the Department's cycling club.
