I'll be in Alberta during the race but there is a great chance to break 12 hours with the team that is lined up.

Since when are you ever injured??? Just that you detected that injury you probably saved a lot of injury time. I myself got an ugly hamstring problem after training too hard after the half this month; but im already back in business :D And dont worry about walk of shame. I felt really smart when i stopped during my 200m intervals, since i felt it wasnt worth getting injured over.
Just do some biking in the meantime.i know it sucks bollox, but it magically keeps you pain-free. i kid you not.

I don't even own a bike. Yet. Gotta do taxes first and I'm hesitant to make a big purchase while my status is still up in the air.
And I really wanted to continue that first sentence with, 'let along many bikes, that would necessitate an entire bike rack'.
But it doesn't really fit with the rest of the response and only to cool people who read my log would understand what I was talking about. Of which there are 3.
