Hope you're feeling more energetic tomorrow, but the relay champs will be awesome in any case!
Hardly an F. Moments of brilliance, including leading the field through the first 3. Regroup and do better on Sunday.
I often struggle with the kind of thing that happened to you on #8. Compounding an initial miss by an inability to figure out where I am and losing a lot of time, not just a few minutes. I don't have an answer for it, but it sure is frustrating when it happens.
Good luck in the long!
Thanks guys- too true and I'll be there:-)
Good to hear that you didn't hang it up for sunday, Bill - but if you need a demonstration of how saturday could have gone worse, check out my, uh, performance? on that same control. I kept thinking that I should have bailed to the SE to the trail like yourself (well done, that), but could never shake the feeling that I almost had it. I found the area murderously difficult with many more similar marsh/boulder areas that I expected, and had great difficulty distinguishing rock features (cliffs, passable rock bands, boulder piles, boulder fields, etc)
Ben thanks for the calibration - that area of the map was especially tough to read. And yes today was a decent day out in the woods!
