Cheers. I also recently had a think about what got me out of my orthotics and headed towards lighter more neutral shoes again and it was my knee pain. Which is gone. And can easily be managed in the shoes that I have worn for the last few years... I started on that track due to a much earlier bout of patella tendonitis bwing partly attributed to my heavy heelstrike etc My running action has changed significantly enough over the last decade that I don't really see that as a factor in knee issues any more.
Conversely, back until about 5 years ago, I had never had achilles problems at all. Hmm.

I recently watched a presentation of a case history of a marathon runner who ran with a heel strike and developed "shin splints" it wouldn't resolve with any treatment so he started running with a forefoot strike. Eventually he developed Achilles Tendonitis so then returned to heel striking until his shins got sore then reverted back. That way he could continue to run and just altered his style to avoid injury.

Hopefully it won't come to that :) First patella tendonitis was 10 years ago, and I don't know that I'm ever going to make a proper forefoot strike. At least there's room for some good years in between.

I'm sure it won't, i wouldn't try for any particular strike if I was you, just do what comes naturally (so long as its not forefoot...... For now anyway).... :)
