maybe your dT/dD is very negative, but hopefully d2T/dD2 is positive enough that you won't die by Christmas :) Here in Vancouver either quantity is effectively 0.

At risk of opening up a philosophical debate on temp. trends may I suggest you cherry pick your start and end points better. If you take the trend over the last 7 hours and extrapolate to Xmas it will be hotter than beyond thunderdome.

As I was writing that log I had a feeling it would provoke some nerdy comments. You guys deliver once again. Winking smiley face.

T = temp?
D = day?

if so you'd be pretty jealous patty dT/dD was probably +5 for the whole weekend, d2T/dD2 seemed to spike negative on Sunday evening and we're applauding the small magnitude of dT/dD as T is presently spot on.

And yes I have also failed to properly define initial conditions but you can probably make some reasonable assumptions from the definition ISA and the current avg solar insolation at -40o latitude. This I leave as an exercise for the reader.
