Join the splash on a crannog lake as a part of Ireland's newest adventure race set in a unique unspoilt mountain region. And if you are wondering what is a crannog, check the event website for photos of the kayak section of the race.

Combining running off-road/trail as well as on road biking, the adventure race has something for everyone from the adventure race beginner to the experience athlete looking for a new challenge in 2011 (64km and 35km routes to choose from and a relay option too). http://www.monstermac.ie/

And will you be one of the ones who opts to dunk at the end? Or maybe you'll make a dash to the finish line without dunking!!

Adventure racing is giving Triathlon a run for its money. There are many people out there who are not very fond of open water swimming and most adventure races don't involve that element. The Monster Mac is an ideal race for the first timer to take part in the shorter Sport race and for the more experienced athlete the Expert is the perfect warm up for the season ahead.
