Discussion: Websites for AR news?

Where do you get your AR info from? I'm curious, but I don't want to colour any responses with my own opinion (yet). If you'd rather just email me use Grant [at] UntamedAdventure.com.

I'm curious after getting a couple pitches from websites looking at advertising deals/coverage packages (and ultimately $), but not really offering any return-on-investment I feel is reliable.

Thanks!

Info or news?

Sleepmonsters, Attackpoint and the websites of specific AR companies - either races I'm thinking of doing or races where friends are competing. I don't follow general AR news closely, not because it wouldn't be interesting but because I'm suffering from information overload of all types. Thus I mostly follow AR within my perceived "community" - Canadian events and Canadian racers doing events anywhere.

Sleepmonsters for international issues. Checkpoint tracker for US based races (has lots of good links to the race websites). Websites of races thinking about doing, doing or know people who are racing.

Sleepmonsters and checkpointzero. Additionally, most of the local AR companies are pretty good about monthly/quarterly newsletters. Used to enjoy the the email list servers (or whatever its called), but they've all died.

Very interesting, thanks for the feedback everyone. I need to reach out to the Canadian SM content manager (he/she is on this board, correct?) as we see sporadic results when working through the main SleepMonsters channel for news. We get on SleepMonsters.de (Germany), for example, when we feel the English-language market is much more our target. Also the French SM editor contacted us about coming out to New England in August, but I think it makes much more sen$e to have a North American representative in attendance.

Does anyone have the Canadian SM contact handy (or email me at Grant [@] UntamedAdventure.com ) ?

I think it might still be Urthbuoy, who has just left for an extended weekend in New York to celebrate a Significant Birthday. If you put a comment on his log, I'm sure he'll get back to you when the confetti settles.

You can try arg as well if he's still involved.

I'm with urthbuoy in NYC. You can track him down via his e-mail link early next week. He is computerless right now, although apparently he had access to one recently :-)

Adventure World Magazine has been getting some great race coverage lately too.
