Anyone know of any online sources to track the race in Abu Dhabi? Something tells me the Dirty Avocados and Check Point Zero tweets will be stopping for a few days in the near future!

The official race website has been pretty good the last few years: www.abudhabi-adventure.com has a real time leaderboard and live GPS tracking (that actually works!).

Sleepmonsters have a reporter on the ground www.sleepmonsters.com and Sportzhub www.sportzhub.com are usually pretty good at posting daily updates on the Kiwi teams.

Should be a good race - my partner Stu is backing up after ARWC racing for team ADCO NZ - he will be ready for a Xmas break after this!

no, but the website won't go live till the race starts in the morning - wait another 12 hours and it should all be online. there is a teams list on the website now if that is what you were looking for?

Oh there's the leader board and a follow the race link now! Either I missed it before or it just came up. Thanks!

This is going to be a neat one to follow. Disappointing that there aren't any Canadian teams.

I would expect CP0 tweets to continue as Yak is on the ground with them in some sort of media capacity.

We can cheer for Denise McHale who is Canadian and is racing with Salomon Crested Butte!

Thanks for that Leanimal, I figured there were some canucks out there!

Nice to see Nathan Fa'avae back in action too!

Yeah I read that he underwent a 2 week training program to get ready....they will be tough to beat although there are some really strong teams there.

Something tells me he kept himself in shape over the years. They are leading last time I checked.

That desert trek looked brutal.

Yeah, imagine the state of thier feet after all that sand! Looked like it was pretty hard for anyone to make a breakaway on the trek too - the leaders all stuck together like glue, not much change in the overall rankings. Will be an intense bike ride tomorrow I suspect!

There have been some startling reports flying around Abu Dhabi about a naked man running round the desert. Only in adventure racing.

Check Point Zero have climbed the ladder! Well done... even without a pedal! (Been there done that.)
