Sounds like a good race to me. I like the idea that lower expectations doesn't mean you're not trying hard. Good plan too, I have to tell myself to go to all the controls before most big races (and in the right order), sometimes the easiest part of orienteering can be difficult.
What were some of the other results? F21 and M21, there was so good competition in both fields, right?
Oh man, number 8 looks like a tough one, what great terrain!
I was real slow going to 2, bobbled a bit around 3, maybe lost a minute each, then screwed up 6 royally, took 4.5 minutes on a leg that should have taken 1.5 minutes. So 45 would have been real good. But given the range of possibilities, 50 was just fine.
Instead of "simplify, simplify, simplify" wouldn't it be better to just "simplify"?
When you're in your 40s, maybe saying it just once suffices. My memory needs more reminding.
I think there was a New England sage that used to live out in the woods. Perhaps PG did training runs past his cabin when he was young, and overheard...
....Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify, simplify!...

Excellent runs as always, Peter. I'm glad I saw you when Ethan caught you; it helped me figure out my error on Brown #2 (which others had trouble with -- though that doesn't excuse my mistakes).
As for the 2-day classic champs, it still exists next year (closer to home this time) on terrain we hope you'll enjoy. And the "individual" champs will be tied in with the convention in Washington State. At some point 'someone' will have to decide which is the "better" individual championship. ;-)
