Considering Laramie's isolated position on the desolate, hard bitten fringes of the western frontier--yes, there are some days when even the FedEx ponies can't hoof through the drifts!--a remarkably fierce field of freshwater runners has enlisted to contest for top goat honors, with the field of battle pinpointed in the ideal location for such a contest: the remarkably aptly named Remarkable Flats map, replete with freshly surveyed additions (Aug 2009) to provide just the right sort of rocky outcroppings that would make any goat feel at home, and enough high altitude short grass prairie to give even the sluggish antelope a taste for the speed that is possible when jacked up on Mountain Dew.
Bring your bulleted battle banners to be planted at the Start line, let the Wyoming "gentle breezes" stretch the colors taut, and we will see who has the right goods and who has only enjoyed the right to try! Nobody is the loser when humidity is lower than the western hero's gunbelt, the sun is so fine, and aspens are beginning their turn towards gold.
