good showing - esp. since you seem to go into these things w/ not a huge amount of conditioning...unless you are just not logging it to throw your competition off:) Its good to see the M60 do so well too - in a lot of running and tri events its depressing to see how it tails off after 60 - no fun if there isn't any competition/company.
So what is your secret? How do you stay in such good shape? Do you find that more training is just redundant? Do you think there would be a payback if you trained more?
No, I'm not in good running shape right now - I'd be surprised if I could run a 25 minute road 5K.
For orienteering, my times depend on, in priority:
1. Execution of route
2. Route choice
3. conditioning
With 1 & 2 strong, I was able to nab 3rd at Turkey O' and got close to #3 at US Champs in VA.
With 1 strong and 2 decent, I held on for 3rd at the Pig Sunday (M55 of course)
With #3, I'd have a chance of top 3 in age group at US Champs - not yet.
