As a matter of politeness, when you post something like this Ctrl-Alt-DownArrow thing, you should also post the antidote if you know it. Because the first thing that a lot of people (e.g. dopes like me) are going to do upon reading that is to say, "Really?", and hit those keys without even thinking. (Fortunately, on my computer it didn't do anything. But it would be handy sometimes if it works on my laptop, which I'll check later.)

:) Yes, thank you J-J. I had intended to post with a picture of the screen and the undo instructions, but it turned out it didn't happen on my home desktop, so I walked away. Though it did work on my work desktop, and my laptop.

And, the antidote is to do the opposite arrow. Ctrl-Alt-DownArrow, then Ctrl-Alt-UPArrow to reverse.

What use do you see having for that function? I assume it wouldn't be there if it was useful. [Edit: Umm, I meant "if it wasn't useful."]

Among other things, when I mount the camera on the wing of my hang glider, it has to mount upside down (because the threaded hole on the camera is on the bottom). It's easy to flip still pictures, but it takes a little more effort to flip a QuickTime movie. If I want to show a raw movie on my laptop quickly, what I've been doing was to turn the computer upside down, but it would be easier to just hit a couple of keys and flip the screen image.

Thanks, J-J. It is nice to know of a practical application for something which totally freaked me out at the time. Luckily, I was still able to type the numbers in and hit the space bar to get the race times.
