proud of you anyway! glad you’re prioritizing recovery! hope you find some good shows (i really like derry girls on netflix as a comedy) to watch on that bicycle :)
So sorry to hear that it ended, although I understand. As Oriana said, end of an era :(
You should fix your feet before you start your running again. It was on and off on my end for few years until last summer when I took it to a new level for "fixing" it - didn't run for several month, which helped or not, who knows, but then it was low efforts active phase and ~3 month later I could run again (still no hard or long runs, only 30-40 min.)
Anyway, you should take care of your feet first and that's your goal.
BTW, try completely different shoes, models, etc.
Thx all. A bit more than 25% of my life to date I was on that streak - but its purpose was to make me a better runner - and while I think it did that well for the first 10-11 years, but the past 1.5 years were questionable on that front, and the last 2-3 month downtrend made it clear it's time for a change.
Thx Vadim - Yep, I plan to rotate the shoes I walk in a bit more. While I still blame the shoe-switch for triggering this - as I had been in a stable rut for years, and twice got PF from shoe-switching - the feet have much enjoyed me switching shoes which I feel enabled some brief upswings in recent months.
I'm not sure what kind of cardio to do yet for the next few weeks/months - maybe exercise biking (which seems fine for the feet) or a stair climber (which may not be okay for the feet... tbd.)
It was an impressive streak, but you are smart to stop when it is no longer serving its purpose. Hopefully this takes the literal and figurative pressure off, and you can have fun experimenting with your cardio options.
