Does anybody have a .jpg of the existing maps for this year's NAOC?

Green Lakes State Park, Fayetteville ? Onondaga County

Happy Valley Wildlife Management Area, Parish

How would the terrain be described?

Here's a green course on the 1992 version of Green Lakes (1:15000, 5m contours). Note: file size is about 1.3 MB (for anyone with a slower connection).

According to CNYO's map page, the Happy Valley map was originally made at 1:30000, leading me to believe it was used for a Rogaine, and that Mark is producing a new map for the A-meet. I don't have a copy of the Rogaine map handy (if at all).

Which events are planned for this Green Lakes map? Sprint, Middle and/or Long?

I don't want to offend anyone, but my spontaneous initial reaction to seeing this map was disappointment. Obviously, I have never been to this spot myself, maybe there is more to the place than can be judged from this old map, but it certainly seems (to me) to be an uninspired choice for the biggest A-meet on the continent...

Apparently this is going to be the Sprint venue. Word has it the map will be updated before then. Word has it this will also be the venue for the Sprint Series Final.

The web site states

"Sprint races will be using a two-stage format"

Will this be total time? Will stage 1 determine the start order of stage 2?

Nick --
It's stated somewhere on the web page that the sprints will be the Sprint Series finals.

As for Hammer's question about start order, CNYO has done this in the past (seeding the 2nd race from results of the 1st), but that doesn't mean they'll do it again (though they might, if I know Mark). It says "details later" so I guess we'll have to stay tuned...
