Racers have already assembled on the island of Krk and the race begins at 8am tomorrow local time (midnight Mountain time here in the US). More info here: https://tracktherace.com/en/sports-events/adventur...

It's a very large primarily European field of teams including the World #1 and current World Champs SAFAT. Also racing is Silver Eensaar on Team World Peace. If you don't recognize this name, you should recognize his usual team, Estonian ACE, for which he is the captain, and which just won a grueling Exp. Africa race about 1 month ago in Lesotho.

There are plenty of other experienced racers and teams on the roster, but I'll let others who are on the boards chime in with their takes. Please join the discussion!

An experienced Canadian team, Wilderness Traverse, is racing as Team 26:

Harper Forbes, Chris Laughren, Julie Parent, Chad Spence.

The pre-race location is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing the course!

From Facebook:

Hello everyone...
We have "special situation in the race" issue and would like to hear your idea how to deal with it to keep race appropriate for everyone.
There are some data from Adventure Race Croatia:
There was kayak section on the race with strong wind coming in some time period.
On the section you were expect to cross the canal assumed way and continue allong the cost to the village.
The section was canceled and time between TAs nullified
One team only was able to finished
4 teams started but were not able to finished because of dangerous conditions
The rest of the teams was transferred by ferry
the teams who started but not finished
2 team finished diagonaly on the beach and called for instruction about how to continue next when paddeling was to difficult to finish the stage
2 teams finished separated between cliffs while trying hard to follow the mandatody crossing and called for help and were moved back by the big boat teams spended from 4-8 hours on the stage
How you would solve the situation so the results would be touch as little as possible and no one would be setted in front of anyone inappropriately.
Referees suggest to nullified the time of the stage and get 5 hours penalty to two teams who were rescued for separating and need to use emergency help.
Thanks
Tomas Petrecek
