Discussion: Mispunch

I made the same mistake while running the Red course. In my case I had basically memorized the route, took a glance at the map again while in the powerline ride, and went straight to the reentrant instead of the cliff. I should have checked the code but I rushed it thinking to stay ahead of others rather than run my race. I've caught myself not checking codes before. I try to watch for this since it's a bad habit, and this time it caught-up with me. My foggy glasses played into this along with the controls being nearby each other. However, they were probably a legal distance apart.

yeah, i also felt like the controls were very close to eachother- even when I saw the master map when I was setting and picking up controls, but i also figured they're probably still legal. im just frustrated that even by knowing this beforehand i didn't bother being more careful about the codes- and i don't even have glasses that could have hindered me. it's also a bad habit of mine, and usually i get away with it without any issues, but a mispunch was bound to happen sometime-
