Ran today around 1:00PM. At the semi-circle where you park, a stalker or some other low life was parked. He very obviously followed me when I went into the woods, so I turned around and entered my car, where he continued to follow me, and didn't stop until I approached a police station. He drove a black Cadillac sedan, yellow NY plate, G?U-25?3. Please please please be on high alert when you pull into the semi-circle, who knows if he's a regular there, what plans he had, or if other people have the same idea as him.

Car was undamaged, nothing was stolen while I was gone. He clearly had intentions of following the driver, not the car.

Yeah, I wondered about that. It's kind of a spooky place on a weekday. Nobody there when I arrived on Tuesday, one other car that was leaving around when I left, but it certainly seemed like a place where someone could break into a car, or worse.

I believe that particular spot has been used as a cruising spot quite often in the past, so my guess is the gentleman was very surprised and disappointed by your lack of interest.

Excellent response, Danny.

Happy the only damage was to your nerves...

I was thinking the same as Boris. Your actions may have been misinterpreted as inviting rather than evasive.

I think you did exactly the right thing. Although it's entertaining to think about the idea of leading a stalker deep into the woods of West Point, and then with a little burst of speed through a low-visibilty area, ditching him out there, then circling back to your car and leaving. (I can think of several reasons, from different angles, why this would not actually be advisable.)

Yeah - last time I did a night orienteering training at that spot there was a guy completely naked walking around the car park - weekends it’s packed with regular folks so no issue
