With all the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 and in line with other sporting events, the 2020 Canadian Rockies Orienteering Festival (CROF) including the 2020 Canadian Orienteering Championships (COCs), Western Canadian Orienteering Championships (WCOCs), Crowsnest Barebones events and the Sass Peepre National Training Junior Camp scheduled to take place in July 3-12, 2020 have been postponed until 2021.
This will be a disappointment for many, as it is to the organizers, but we feel at this time, it is the only responsible decision to make. We do not take this decision lightly, as 2020 will be the first time that the Canadian Orienteering Championships will not be held since the first COCs in 1968.
The Canadian Rockies Orienteering Festival will be rescheduled for the summer of 2021.

Mike, we should have the new dates posted by the end of next week. Hopefully, in a year we can travel again..

We are pleased to announce the dates for the 2021 Canadian Rockies Orienteering Festival. A note that these will not be 100% confirmed until permits and landowner permissions have been granted (and assuming we are in a safer position virus-wise).
July 2021
Fri July 2 - WCOC Sprint - Bragg Creek , AB
Sat July 3 - WCOC Middle - Lusk Creek – Barrier Lake, AB
Sun July 4 - WCOC Long - Lusk Creek – Barrier Lake, AB
Mon July 5 - Crowsnest Barebones, evening event - Blairmore, AB
Tues July 6 - Crowsnest Barebones, morning event - Blairmore, AB
Wed July 7 - Sass Peepre Jr Training Camp - Kimberley, BC
Thurs July 8 - Sass Peepre Jr Training Camp / COC Model event - Kimberley, BC
Fri July 9 - COC Sprint and HPP fundraising event - Kimberley, BC
Sat July 10 - COC Long - Cranbrook, BC
Sun July 11 - COC Middle - Cranbrook, BC
Dates for COC AGM, Banquet and Silent Auction to be confirmed.
As always, many factors go into choosing event dates: other orienteering events, permitting issues, weather issues, other events in the local communities, availability of key volunteers, etc. All being well, we look forward to seeing many of you at CROF 2021 and we are sorry in advance that these dates will not work for some of you.
