It is now possible to reserve campsites at most campgrounds near the Cal O Fest events. If you are planning to camp during the festival, you should make your reservations as soon as possible, before the campsites are all gone.

Here are some links.

For Stages 1 and 3 (act by Feb. 4!):

Group sites, for 30 people, at the Presidio campground (enter a lottery before Feb. 4 to have a chance at these -- if you land one of the sites, you can invite other orienteers!)

For Donner Memorial State Park, use reservecalifornia.com (You'll have to search for the park)

It says in Bulletin 2 that there will be rogaine camping available at the event center. Do we need to sign up for that somewhere? I didn't see an option to do so on the registration.

**edit: looks like camping is included in the price of rogaine registration...

Yes, Rogaine camping will be available at the event center at Northstar. There is no separate registration for it. The price is included in the Rogaine registration.

I just got the email giving me a Presidio Rob Hill campground spot for 7-22. That's check in on 7-22 and check out on 7-23. Tent camping only (their rules).

The fee is $125 for the entire spot. It can hold up to 30 people. If at least 5 people respond with the tentative commitment to camp, I will reserve and pay for the spot. You can pay me at that time: with 6 of us it would $20 each, and then the price goes down with every person joining us.

Who wants to camp at the Presidio on that night? Please reply.

Do you know if the camping includes vehicle parking?

The campground comes with 4 parking spots. But we'll need to move our vehicles by 11:00 a.m. on 7-23.

Here is the link posted above about the campground in general:

https://www.presidio.gov/lodging/rob-hill-campgrou...

On that page, if you click "Facilities and Amenities" it has a paragraph about parking that reads:

Parking: Four parking permits per campsite are included with your reservation. These permits will allow up to four vehicles per campsite to park in the campground parking lot on Central Magazine Rd. Additional vehicles will need to park offsite, the nearest parking lots are approximately a 5 minute walk away. Information about overflow parking locations will be included with your permit. For additional information about getting around the Presidio or taking public transit please visit our Transportation page.

Only authorized staff and maintenance vehicles are allowed in the campground. There is no public vehicle access into the campground.

Interest in camping at the Presidio on 7-22 was light, but I thought, hey it's only February, and by the time summer roles around more people will join. So I went ahead and paid for the reservation.

If 20 people camped it would $6.25 person. Tents only, and no dogs (their rules). I will post again on this thread in June sometime to remind everyone of the possibility. But feel free to email me before than to put your name on the list.

I have managed to get camping at Rob Hill for 20-22nd of July. A similar offer to above applies. If anyone is interested then let me know.
