Hope you can join us for the fifth annual Maine Summer Adventure Race! We have added back the 8-hour edition for those not into or ready for an overnight race. https://www.mainesummerar.com/registration.html
Were we the first to sign up??
Nope, Bert Rothenbach was, but you were third! Excited to have you guys up again - just try and clear this one :)
Ha, that sounds like a challenge.
Looking forward to it. Great fun last year kayaking to abandoned fortresses on choppy waters, being asked if we were with 'The Amazing Race' while being led through downtown Portland on a Saturday night, and eating Five Guys while 'strategizing'. Here. We. Go.
Fewer coffee stops in this one, I'm afraid, Mr. BPG. But still a few if you make them a priority.
Coffee is always a priority. Always...
Thanks for putting the race together. Always a good time.
Any chance of hitting Three D's Variety?
Ha! I plan on being low on microwave cheeseburgers and energy drinks.
Maybe we can get Three D’s to sponsor an aid station ;)
Ha! Stocked with lottery scratchers and Juul pods.
If we're voting for checkpoints/aid stations, may I humbly submit:http://www.beckysdiner.com/
As we ran by BD, I couldn't believe that there wasn't a flag to punch outside and a burger to eat inside. #FOMO #StruggleIsReal
I did a multi-day sea kayaking trip last summer where the first 24 hours was almost entirely fueled by italian subs from https://www.amatos.com/location/south-portland/
There's a kayak-accessible dock/CP location right behind http://daysmaine.com/
MHTrailVet will remember the smell that engulfed us as I opened up my Amatos hoagies during the race last year.
Your suggestions have all been noted. None of them will be honored. Clearly the 2019 course was too cushy.
