It's the future... or maybe the present. Everyone will get nostalgic soon enough and want to put controls out again.

How often does Roma St park get used? I ran a MapRun event when I was there back in March and pretty sure it's been used since then too. MapRun for that wasn't overly accurate since I collected a control from the wrong side of an impassable fence.

Do you think WOC will go that path or similar one day? It's just not the same looking for a flag.

And the 1st control this time around was hidden in a very complex area, but my phone buzzed 50m before it. I still ran to the control site which cost me 30 secs more but noticed others on Strava did not. Probably the biggest gripe I have with MapRun (and the fact I have to hold a bloody phone).

Another downside is my 4 year old son wasn't interested in running as there were no flags to find or SI units for his dibber.

It's the first time I've run on Roma Street since the NOL in 2014? Probably the 3rd time they've used it this year.

I think there was some issue with them not being allowed to put out controls for this? I like the map, but Roma St has always had a lot of issues with permissions.

It's fine for training or informal events but give me flags any day.
