I’m looking for my first adventure race. However I’m not really interested in a <5 race. I’m really looking for something that tests my resolve to complete rather than a sprint if that makes sense. I did a 10 mile tough muddier and that was cool but would like to do something with hiking, biking etc that’s a bit more rugged. Maybe even an overnight... any thoughts on something like this? Thanks

It sounds like adventure racing will be a great fit for you! Most races are longer than 5 hours and include some time on foot and bikes as well as other disciplines. Are you thinking of racing with a team or are you specifically looking for solo challenges? Do you have navigation skills or is that something you plan to work on?

Where do you live, Outmama?

I'd start by checking the USARA and Adventure Racing Cooperative (ARCooperative.org) websites for a list of races.

Mr Wonderful:
Solo or with team? If solo, I recommend finding your nearest orienteering club to get some navigation practice.
