Stars are happy to organize a winter adventure race ( ski-O, snowshoe O and others ) as well as individual courses for ski-O ( beginners and advanced) and/or snow shoe O score ( beginners ). Near Mansfield-Ontario, good timing to prepare for Canadian Ski-o Champs and/or february Snowshoe Raid.

Sounds like fun, Nick - looking forward to it!
Hey Nick, can you give us a few more details about the adventure race. What disciplines are included?
the adventure race will have navigation on x-country skis ( like ski-orienteering ) and snow shoeing navigation ( more like a score O) and of course a small surprise ( no biking this time though ). wining time ? probably under 3 hours ( but over 2h) with a time limit of 5 h. more on skis then on snowshoes.various types of maps. teams will receive their package about 8.30/8.45 am. oh.. and we are praying for good conditions that day
Best of all, the earlybird price for a team of three is $130 - that's the usual price per person for a winter AR, so hopefully it will inspire more people to give it a try.
on line registration is now open ( see link above at the start of the thread )
The registration link was down tonight. Maybe it's a temporary blip with the big storm?
also a reminder that Sunday , jan 27 there will be the famous Thomass O-event ( on foot ) just north of Toronto
BTW, the registration link is working just fine now. It was a short-term thing on the night of the snowstorm.
and the last day for regular fee is just around.. this friday. register early and save. after these few warm days cold and snow should be back.
Although the website hasn't been updated yet, the regular price has been extended until this Monday evening, Jan. 14.

Snow has started falling again today, but Nick has advised me that the race will go ahead - with some modifications - in the unlikely event that winter isn't back in 2 weeks.
web site reflects the extension now. yay ..snow !!!
and the snow start coming back just in time for the race. be ready for a winter challenge.
I was skiing for 2 hrs yesterday about 45 minutes south of Mansfield. You should be fine, Nick.
i went up today and its going to be at least good ( most likely even one.. notch higher ).event website is being updated now with the latest info. if you missed your registration, you still have some time
control flags were hanged yesterday afternoon/evening, conditions were good to very good, now they got another couple of inches of snow overnite and maybe little more to come today, and will make it for a great day. if still want to come out, send me an email, by friday 7-8 pm , to print more maps ( as on-line registration is closed ). see you
