Naomi Jarvis is the meet director, and she is also an avid nordic-style skier. She monitors the level and condition of the snow and you can contact and ask her via the West PA Orienteering Club facebook page.

Laurel Ridge also has a webcam so you can see how much snow there is.

yeah that's one of the problems with just "track". After seeing all different strategies used, each with differing problems, I now either a) say nothing and go around the slower skier if there's room, or b) say "I'm on your left" or right as the case may be. If I don't think they hear me coming I'll modify that to "I'm passing on your left" to get their attention.

Even these options aren't completely trouble-free. If you say anything at all some people will try to scramble out of the way (even if they aren't really in the way) and get themselves into trouble doing so. And if you do say something you risk the same problem as above, the person might move to the side of the trail you were intending to pass on.

Glad to see you folks got snow and were able to hold your ski-O! One of these years I have to get down there for it.
