Discussion: Orienteering Training Near NYC!
in: HVO/WCOC winter Course #1 (Jan 2–21, 2018 - Pound Ridge, NY, US)
So who fancies trying the HVO winter course number 1 at Pound Ridge map this weekend? As an incentive I'm prepared to bring printed maps so you don't have to. I'm planning to go out at 2pm in the afternoon (forecast to be the warmest part of the day - a balmy 46F). Want to try and get a crowd out for the folks who put the effort in.
Oh I should have said I planning to go out Saturday Jan 21 since that's the last day....
I'm planning on it. I will email you.
I am interested. Course 2 at Huntington was great. My son wants to go with me. I assume we can go at our own pace even if we start about the same time. We wouldn't be able to hang with you and Joe, but are happy to meet up around the start. Is that your idea?
Rick and I are likely up for it. We can bring our own maps.
Dave Weber dropped a black Pearl Izumi glove somewhere on the red course last week. If anyone finds it leave it at the office and tell them Geof (with a G) will collect it when he gets back from basking in the sun.
Yes sorry Jan 20 not 21 (my bad)
Thanks to all for coming out Saturday - all told I counted 10 orienteers in the woods but there may have been more as I arrived a little later than planned - thanks in particular to the organizers - the red was a really fun course!
