#5 red was relocated before I picked it up. There was a a tree stand approximately on top of its location. Not sure when it changed location - I was one of the last through, so maybe it was alright. I didn't get to that spot until 4 pm.

He did give me directions, although I annoyed him by asking for more specific ones. He stuck it on the power line, which I never would have checked had he not mentioned it.

haha...then I was wrong...it just didn't seem all that deep for a depression... I was flustered enough as it was.

Soooo scratched up this morning...

It wouldn't be very deep - it's a form line, so perhaps just 8' deep (if 5 m, I forget the interval here), and considering the lines are well-spaced, the grade will be pretty soft as well.

From belly button down, I am nothing but red dots, mini bruises, or thorns. I'm sitting at my desk in a light burn.

Do o maps in SE MI use dark green or do you just ignore it??

Yes, some parts need to be greener than shown. The undergrowth (wild roses) is also a problem for this new mostly unvetted area.

Honestly the dark green can be better than medium green. It's thick, but not always pokey, and I'll take thick over pokey any day.

There were some sections where it was a debate between: 50 m of rough and 200 m of not that great....My split show on this shows awful beat increased comfort, so it was a bit of a game of how much you could take.

I think a contributing factor is that this veg is lidar-generated. Briars may not pop a lot of returns to trigger turning white to a shade of green, or bumping up green by any shades. Also, from scouting on Friday, one of our cleaner maps has more briars than I recall - perhaps a banner year for briar production I guess.

Tis a shame, since the underlying terrain would have made for a fantastic experience - I enjoyed the layout and route puzzles other than the pokes. Can we borrow a forest fire?
