I like orienting the map on the path at just past 1 minute in the video.

Also, do you have something to keep the video so steady?

That discontinued Silva clip-on compass is pretty good for encouraging focus on just orienting the map, I usually try to clip it near a big north arrow.

The camera is on a 3-axis gimbal stabilizer. I like using it on an extension pole but it can also attach to other GoPro mounts.
